Bungie Teases Destiny 2 Season 14 Weapon Buffs For Next Blog Post

The Bungie Community Team is teasing that gun enthusiasts will come to the heavy gun location, with more details to be described in the next TWAB article.

Destiny 2The current season of the Chosen Ones is in its home stretch as the Guardians embark on a last-minute snack and claim victory at the Guardian Games. As Season 14 approaches, fans are wondering what the new season will be and what the season sandbox update will be for weapon balancing. Bungie’s community team gifted the latter with a tease before the penultimate This Week at Bungie (TWAB) post for the current season.

Season of the Chosen saw the Guardians battle Empress Caiatl’s cabal after her homeworld was ravaged by the hive god Xivu Arath and Caiatl’s attempts to bring the last city back to her rule. With the city and Caiatl now under peaceful conditions, the Guardians’ gazes turn to the new threat that may loom on the horizon.

It looks like Bungie will start pulling back the curtain next season with Thursday’s TWAB post, and the DMG Community Manager offered the first tease of his content on Twitter today. DMG says it works with the Destiny 2 weapon team to describe all the buffs hitting as part of the update. While DMG doesn’t go any further, teasing heavy weapons will be a focal point in the next update.

Bungie already outlined some of the weapon nerfs on their way to Season 14 earlier this month. The first weapon nerfs the team talked about will be Hand Cannons and Aggressive Shotguns, two of the most commonly used weapon archetypes in Destiny 2 PvP. The Quickdraw and Frenzy perks should also receive nerfs after becoming two of the most wanted weapon perks for Season of the Chosen.

The developer also said that Reservoir Burst is also undergoing changes, although it is not known if that means the Loaded Question Sunset Fusion Rifle is back or if it will be on a new fusion rifle for. season 14.

Weapon changes aside, Bungie is looking to do a bit with the final season. Transmog is ready to go Destiny 2 debut in Season 14, though fans weren’t happy with the system Bungie described. Aside from these changes and weapon nerfs, not much else is known about Season 14. Latest rumors suggest it will be titled Season of the Splicer, which teases a focus on the Fallens. and maybe even the return of SIVA. Given the focus on the dead and Clovis Bray in Beyond Light, there is a distinct possibility that this could be the theme for Season 14.
